Toilet training impacts most of our clients, yet many clinicians receive little formal training on how to assess, design, and troubleshoot successful toilet training programs.
This 5-day Summer Camp will walk you through a behavioral approach to toilet training from assessment through intervention. You'll learn how to identify readiness factors, collect meaningful baseline data, select appropriate treatment procedures, and address common barriers that interfere with success. We'll also discuss strategies for promoting independence, increasing self-initiation, and supporting caregivers throughout the process.
Topics include:
• Assessment and readiness considerations
• Baseline data collection and treatment planning
• Reinforcement systems and prompting procedures
• Teaching communication and independence skills
• Troubleshooting accidents, resistance, and stalled progress
• Supporting implementation across home, school, and community settings
Whether you're working with toddlers, school-aged children, or individuals with developmental disabilities, you'll leave with a stronger framework for designing individualized toilet training programs that produce meaningful results.
